Around the web: Chuck Warnock, Michael Spencer, John Piper
- Pastor Chuck Warnock gives his 5 Rules for Pastors. #1: your not a miniature big church.
- Every person in ministry is strongly tempted to quit from time to time. Not quit as in “send out a resume, start looking for a job” quit, but “walk out today” quit. Michael Spencer, of the Internet Monk blog, writes that while tempting, a "good name" means sticking with a position when its tempting to leave a ministry fallen flat if you were to leave immediately.
- John Piper writes that his father was one of the most intense people he had ever known when he was in the pulpit and perhaps the happiest person he'd ever known when he was at the dinner table. While on the road as an evangelist two-thirds of the year, his family would hear glorious stories of repentance, how could they not support that or be thrilled to be a part of it somehow? This father knew how to encourage his children to feel a part of his wonderful ministry.
