In 1 Kings 17, we are introduced to the powerful prophet Elijah, whose ministry begins with boldness and faith. Elijah confronts King Ahab, declaring a severe drought as God’s judgment for Israel’s idolatry.
God then leads Elijah to the Kerith Brook, where he is miraculously sustained by ravens bringing food. When the brook dries up, Elijah is sent to Zarephath, where a poor widow and her son are facing starvation. By trusting God’s word through Elijah, her jar of flour and jug of oil never run out during the famine.
Later, when the widow’s son dies, Elijah prays earnestly, and God raises the child back to life—showing His power over death and His care for His people.
🔥 Key Lessons from 1 Kings 17:
God provides in miraculous ways when we trust Him.
Faith and obedience unlock divine provision.
God’s promises never fail, even when circumstances look impossible.
Prayer is powerful, and God hears the cries of His servants.
