Consider Your Ways Why Hard Work Isn’t Paying Off Haggai 1 KJV

Have you ever worked harder than ever—yet felt like nothing is coming together?

That’s exactly what happened in Haggai chapter 1.

After returning from exile, Israel focused on building comfortable, paneled homes while God’s house lay in ruins. Through the prophet Haggai, the LORD confronts their misplaced priorities:

“Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?” (Haggai 1:4, KJV)

Because God was neglected, their labor produced frustration instead of fulfillment:

They sowed much but harvested little

They earned wages only to put them into bags with holes

Satisfaction never came

God’s message was clear:

“Consider your ways.” (Haggai 1:5, KJV)

When the people repented and obeyed by rebuilding the temple, everything changed. The LORD responded with one of the most powerful promises in Scripture:

“I am with you, saith the LORD.” (Haggai 1:13, KJV)

Haggai 1 teaches us a timeless truth:

🔑 When God is first, life begins to work again.

This message challenges us to examine our priorities and invites us to realign our lives with God’s will—unlocking His presence, peace, and blessing.
