The Word of Wisdom is a divine insight given by the Holy Spirit, enabling a believer to apply knowledge rightly in a specific situation. It is not merely human wisdom or intellect but a supernatural impartation of God's perspective and guidance. James 1:5 (KJV) says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

The Bible provides several instances where the Word of Wisdom is demonstrated: King Solomon exhibited this gift when he resolved the dispute between two women claiming to be the mother of the same child (1 Kings 3:1628). Jesus also demonstrated it when He diffused a potentially violent situation with the adulterous woman (John 8:111).

The primary purpose of the Word of Wisdom is to glorify God and edify the church by providing divine guidance in challenging circumstances, promoting unity and peace within the body of Christ. Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) reminds us to trust in the Lord for direction and understanding.
