In Genesis 44, Joseph tests his brothers by hiding his silver cup in Benjamin’s sack. When the cup is found, the brothers return to Joseph in anguish. Then Judah steps forward with one of Scripture’s most moving pleas:
“What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants…” (Genesis 44:16, KJV)
“Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord… For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me?” (Genesis 44:33–34, KJV)
This chapter shows true repentance, loyalty, and sacrificial love, paving the way for reconciliation. In today’s message, we’ll unpack how God uses testing to reveal transformed hearts—and how leadership in God’s eyes often looks like compassion and self-sacrifice.
