Jehu’s Partial Obedience The Hidden Cost of Doing Half of God’s Will 2 Kings 10 Explained

What happens when we only obey part of what God commands?

In 2 Kings 10, Jehu is chosen to bring judgment on the house of Ahab and destroy Baal worship in Israel. He acts swiftly and decisively — but stops short of full obedience. Though he tears down Baal’s temple, he leaves the golden calves of Bethel and Dan untouched, continuing Israel’s cycle of idolatry.

This powerful message reminds us that partial obedience is still disobedience. Jehu’s story shows how doing most of what God asks is not enough — complete obedience is what brings lasting blessing and purpose.

🎧 Listen and reflect on the importance of finishing what God starts in you.

🙏 “And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice...” — 1 Samuel 15:22 (KJV)
