John 11 tells the powerful story of Jesus, Lazarus, Mary, and Martha. When Lazarus becomes sick, his sisters call for Jesus, believing He can help. Yet Jesus delays His arrival, and Lazarus dies before He comes. In the midst of overwhelming grief, we find one of the most profound verses in Scripture: “Jesus wept.” (John 11:35 KJV)

Even knowing He would soon raise Lazarus from the dead, Jesus still entered into the pain of those mourning. He cried with them. He cared deeply. This chapter reveals that true compassion is not only about solving problems—it is about being present with people in their suffering.

Jesus shows us what genuine empathy looks like: listening, mourning with others, loving deeply, and bringing hope into dark situations. No matter what grief or hardship you face, Jesus sees your pain and walks with you through it.
