John 21 beautifully captures the restoration, grace, and calling of Jesus after His resurrection. The chapter opens with seven disciples fishing on the Sea of Tiberias, working all night without success. At dawn, Jesus appears on the shore and instructs them to cast their net on the right side of the boat, resulting in a miraculous catch of 153 fish. This miracle reminds the disciples that true fruitfulness comes through obedience to Christ. Peter, overwhelmed with love and excitement, jumps into the water to reach Jesus as quickly as possible.

On the shore, Jesus lovingly prepares breakfast for His disciples, demonstrating His care and fellowship. After the meal, Jesus asks Peter three times, “Do you love me?” mirroring Peter’s earlier three denials. With each response, Jesus restores Peter and commissions him to shepherd and care for His people: “Feed my sheep.” This powerful moment reveals that failure is not the end for those who genuinely repent and return to Christ. Jesus restores, forgives, and gives renewed purpose.

John 21 teaches profound lessons about obedience, servant leadership, restoration after failure, and wholehearted commitment to Jesus. It reminds believers that Christ still calls imperfect people to follow Him faithfully and care for others in love.
