Psalm 1 begins with a clear distinction between the righteous and the wicked. Verse 1 (KJV) states, "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful." This verse teaches us to avoid the influence of the wicked and to seek the company and counsel of those who follow God. Verse 2 emphasizes, "But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night." To live a godly life, we must immerse ourselves in God's Word, finding joy and guidance in it continually. The psalmist likens the righteous to a tree planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in its season. Verse 3 assures us, "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." This imagery reminds us that living in accordance with God's Word leads to a fruitful and prosperous life.

Psalm 37:1 (KJV) instructs, "Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity." This wisdom encourages us to maintain our peace and trust in God's justice, rather than being consumed by the success of the wicked. Verse 4 promises, "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." True contentment and fulfillment come from finding our joy in God, aligning our desires with His will. Verse 5 further advises, "Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." Trusting God with our plans and paths ensures that He will guide and establish our steps.
