Mark 14 is one of the most emotional and powerful chapters in the Gospel of Mark. It reveals the final moments before the crucifixion of Jesus—filled with betrayal, sacrifice, and deep spiritual truth.
The chapter begins with religious leaders plotting to kill Jesus in secret. In contrast, a woman in Bethany pours costly ointment on Him—an act of pure devotion that Jesus says will be remembered forever.
At the Last Supper, Jesus institutes a sacred remembrance:
“Take, eat: this is my body… This is my blood of the new testament.” (Mark 14:22-24 KJV)
In the Garden of Gethsemane, we see the humanity of Christ as He prays in anguish:
“Abba, Father… take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.” (KJV)
Then comes betrayal. Judas arrives with a kiss. The disciples flee.
And Peter—bold and confident—denies Jesus three times.
Yet even in failure, there is hope.
Mark 14 reminds us:
Devotion matters
Flesh is weak
God’s will is greater
And grace is still available when we fall
🔥 This is the story of love that didn’t quit—even when people did.
