Matthew 17 opens with one of the most breathtaking moments in Scripture—the Transfiguration.

Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up a high mountain. Suddenly, His appearance changes:

📖 “His face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.” (KJV)

Moses and Elijah appear—representing the Law and the Prophets—testifying that Jesus fulfills them both. Then a bright cloud overshadows them, and the voice of God declares:

📖 “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.” (KJV)

The disciples fall in fear—but Jesus touches them and says:

📖 “Arise, and be not afraid.” (KJV)

Glory and grace meet on the mountain.

Coming down, reality strikes. A desperate father brings his tormented son. The disciples could not cast out the demon. Jesus responds:

📖 “Because of your unbelief…” (KJV)

And then delivers a powerful truth:

📖 “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed… nothing shall be impossible unto you.” (KJV)

Faith is not about size—it’s about sincerity.

Jesus again predicts His betrayal and resurrection, reminding us that glory leads to the cross before the crown.

Finally, in a quiet but powerful miracle, Peter finds a coin in a fish’s mouth to pay the temple tax—revealing Jesus’ divine authority and humble submission.

Matthew 17 teaches us:

• Jesus’ divine glory is undeniable

• Faith activates spiritual power

• God provides in unexpected ways

• Humility walks alongside authority
