Matthew 28 – The Resurrection, the Risen King, and the Mission That Never Ends

📘 From the Gospel of Matthew

Matthew 28 is the triumphant climax of the Gospel—the chapter where death is defeated, hope is restored, and the mission of the Church is born.

At dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary visit the tomb, only to witness a violent earthquake and an angel rolling back the stone. The message is simple but world-shaking:

“He is not here: for he is risen.” (Matthew 28:6, KJV)

Fear turns to joy. Mourning turns to worship. And on the road, the women encounter the risen Jesus Christ Himself—alive, victorious, and reassuring them: “Be not afraid.”

Meanwhile, the guards are bribed to spread a lie—proof that truth has enemies when resurrection power is undeniable.

The chapter concludes with the Great Commission. On a mountain in Galilee, Jesus declares that all authority in heaven and earth belongs to Him and commands His followers to:

Go into all nations

Make disciples

Baptize

Teach obedience

And then comes the promise that still carries believers today:

“Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:20, KJV)

Matthew 28 teaches us:

The resurrection is real

Fear must give way to faith

The gospel must be shared

We are never alone

👉 Watch, be strengthened, and step into your calling.
