Micah 6 God’s Courtroom What Does the LORD Truly Require

Micah 6 opens like a divine courtroom drama. God calls His people to account—not in secret, but before heaven and earth. The mountains and hills stand as witnesses as the LORD presents His case against Israel.

📖 “Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains.” (Micah 6:1, KJV)

God reminds Israel of His unwavering faithfulness:

🔹 Deliverance from Egypt

🔹 Leaders raised up—Moses, Aaron, and Miriam

🔹 Protection from Balak and blessing through Balaam

Yet despite God’s goodness, the people respond with confusion and ritualism. They ask what offerings will satisfy God—burnt offerings, thousands of rams, rivers of oil, even their own children.

God’s answer is simple—and piercing.

📖 “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah 6:8, KJV)

True worship is not found in extravagant sacrifice, but in a transformed life.

The chapter then exposes Israel’s corruption: dishonest scales, violence, deceit, and exploitation. Because of this, God warns of serious consequences—emptiness, hunger, loss, and destruction.

🔥 Micah 6 teaches us:

God values obedience over ritual

Justice, mercy, and humility define true faith

Religious acts cannot replace righteous living

God remembers His faithfulness—even when we forget

👉 Watch and reflect: Are we offering God rituals—or our lives?
