What happens when you’ve trusted God for years, but suddenly find yourself facing new struggles, uncertainty, or the challenges of growing older?
Psalm 71 is a powerful prayer of lifelong faith. The psalmist looks back over his life and remembers that God has been faithful from his youth. Now, in old age, he asks God to remain close:
“Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.” — Psalm 71:9
This is more than a prayer about aging. It is a testimony about enduring faith.
The psalmist remembers what God has already done, trusts Him with what he is facing today, and looks forward to telling the next generation about God’s mighty works.
Psalm 71 reminds us:
🙏 God has been faithful in the past.
❤️ God is with us in the present.
🛡️ God remains our refuge in difficult times.
💪 Our physical strength may fade, but our faith can grow stronger.
🔥 Our testimony can encourage the next generation.
Your story isn't finished.
Every trial God has carried you through becomes part of your testimony. Every answered prayer becomes another reason to praise Him. And every season of life gives you another opportunity to tell someone else about His faithfulness.
Remember His faithfulness. Trust Him today. Tell the next generation what God has done.
