Today, let's take a moment to reflect on the powerful words of Psalm 28, a heartfelt prayer of David seeking God's help and praising His faithfulness.

Psalm 28 begins with a plea for God's attention: "Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit." (Psalm 28:1 KJV). David recognizes God as his rock, his solid foundation, and he urgently seeks God's response.

David's cry to the Lord shows his dependence on God's mercy and intervention. In verses 2 and 3, he says, "Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle." David understands the importance of earnest prayer and lifting his hands in surrender and worship.

In the middle of the psalm, David contrasts the fate of the wicked with the protection God provides to the righteous. He knows that those who turn away from God face destruction, but those who trust in Him will find refuge. Verses 6 and 7 declare, "Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him."

The psalm concludes with a note of praise and confidence in God's saving power. David's trust in God leads to joy and a song of praise. He says in verses 8 and 9, "The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever." David's praise is not just for himself but extends to all of God's people, asking for their continued blessing and protection.
