Mark Chapter 10 is a powerful call to commitment, humility, and bold faith as Jesus moves closer to Jerusalem.
The chapter opens with a challenge from the Pharisees about divorce. Jesus goes back to the beginning—God’s original design:
“What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” (Mark 10:9 KJV)
This is more than a teaching—it’s a call to honor covenant over convenience.
Then comes a beautiful moment—Jesus welcomes little children and declares:
“Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.” (Mark 10:15 KJV)
Childlike faith. Total trust. No pride. No pretense.
Next, the rich young ruler approaches Jesus, seeking eternal life—but walks away sorrowful when asked to surrender everything. Jesus reveals a hard truth:
“With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” (Mark 10:27 KJV)
The disciples are reminded—following Jesus isn’t about status… it’s about sacrifice.
“Whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister.” (Mark 10:43 KJV)
True greatness is found in serving, not being served.
Finally, blind Bartimaeus cries out boldly:
“Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me!” (Mark 10:47 KJV)
Despite opposition, he refuses to be silent—and his faith leads to a miracle.
