Good morning, beloved brothers and sisters in Christ. Today, we reflect on the Flight to Egypt, as recorded in Matthew 2:13-23 (KJV).

"And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son."

The flight to Egypt was a perilous journey, undertaken to protect Jesus from King Herod's murderous decree. Joseph's immediate obedience to the angel's warning exemplifies his faith and trust in God's guidance.

This event highlights several important truths:

God’s Protection and Provision: God warned Joseph through an angel, ensuring the safety of Jesus. This demonstrates God's protective care over His Son and His plans for salvation.

Obedience and Faith: Joseph’s swift response to God's command shows his obedience and faith. He trusted God's word and acted without hesitation, despite the danger and uncertainty.

Fulfillment of Prophecy: The journey to Egypt fulfilled the prophecy, "Out of Egypt have I called my son," highlighting the divine orchestration of events in Jesus' life.

As we reflect on the Flight to Egypt, let us remember that God is our protector and provider. Like Joseph, may we trust in God's guidance, respond with obedience, and have faith that He will lead us through difficult times.
