Good morning, brothers and sisters in Christ. Today, we delve into the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace, a vital part of the Armor of God from Ephesians 6:15, "And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace." The Roman soldier’s sandals offered stability with thick soles and hobnails for traction. Similarly, the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace equip us to stand firm against life’s challenges and advance the mission of spreading the Gospel.
The term "gospel" means good news, and this news brings profound peace—peace that transcends understanding, reconciling us with God as Romans 5:1 assures, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Being ready with the gospel means always prepared to share it, as 1 Peter 3:15 encourages, "Be ready always to give an answer." Walking in these shoes means living a life reflecting Christ’s peace, as Colossians 3:15 urges, "Let the peace of God rule in your hearts." Thus, we become peacemakers, fulfilling Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."
May we walk in the peace that surpasses all understanding and share it with a world in need.
