Zechariah 3 delivers one of the most dramatic courtroom scenes in all of Scripture.

The prophet sees Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD — and standing beside him is Satan, accusing him. Joshua’s garments are filthy, representing the sin, guilt, and spiritual failure of Israel.

But something astonishing happens.

God does not ask Joshua to defend himself.

God does not argue with Satan.

God simply acts.

“Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.” — Zechariah 3:4 (KJV)

The filthy garments are removed. Clean robes are placed on Joshua. A clean turban crowns his head. The accuser is silenced — not by human effort, but by divine grace.

This vision reveals the heart of God:

• He removes sin completely

• He restores dignity and calling

• He silences every accusation

• He gives access, authority, and a future

God then promises Joshua that if he walks in obedience, he will govern God’s house and stand freely in God’s presence — pointing forward to the ultimate cleansing found in Christ.

Zechariah 3 reminds us that grace doesn’t just forgive — it transforms.

If you’ve ever felt unworthy, accused, or stained by the past, this chapter is for you.

🙏 Watch, be encouraged, and trust in the God who clothes sinners in righteousness.
